The evolution of Catherine’s Place

It’s been a tough few weeks! Catherine’s Place is now sadly closed and I’m thinking about the future of the wonderful quiet community we were building. I’ve felt deeply grateful and touched by the comments and love shared for Catherine’s Place, my yoga classes and our community. And this isn’t the end - just an evolution...

Introducing: Quiet Community with Catherine

The community, values and vibe of Catherine’s Place will stay alive, though without a permanent place. So a rebrand was in order! And Quiet Community was born.

While brainstorming a new name, I’ve been thinking about things that you - our community - have said about how yoga classes have made you feel, about how unique the peace and quiet of Catherine’s Place was in the city centre, and about the benefits of creativity and wholesome community.

It’s all been about the idea of retreating from the stresses and overwhelm of day-to-day life, whether it’s on a week-long inclusive retreat, a nourishing 60-minute yoga class or through a creative club or event designed for quiet community.Catherine sits cross-legged on a yoga contemplating with eyes closed

Our Quiet Community will be a hybrid community, with opportunities for yoga, creativity and wellness in new venues around Leeds and Harrogate, and also online (more on this soon). We’re sticking to our values of kindness, inclusion and integrity. All are welcome to join us for a cosy retreat from the busy modern world in a way that most nourishes and inspires you. Yoga classes, retreats, creative clubs and more - coming soon!

Coming soon…

  • Saturday morning yoga is moving upstairs!

  • New venues for classes and clubs (announcements soon).

  • New online community (more on this shortly).

  • Retreats!

Clubs & events

Our Creative Writing Club met at Holding Patterns in Leeds City Centre last week for prompt-inspired writing fun. Our next meet will be Wednesday 11th March at The Tetley. All welcome, no writing experience required.

I’m excited to share that my sell-out Understanding Autism talk will be popping up at a new venue in Leeds in the next few months. I’ve run this talk many times at the University of Leeds and it’s always a fun, myth-busting session that stimulates important conversations about autism and neurodiversity. (Wondering what it’ll be like? Read what previous attendees have said here.)

Catherine presents her Understanding Autism workshop for 50 colleagues at a university.

After the success of our Co-working & Yoga session at Catherine’s Place, I will be running more regular co-working days with creative, educational and wellness activities embedded in for a perfect work day experience with our quiet community. More on this very soon!

Retreats

Possibly the new addition I am most looking forward to…inclusive, small group retreats around the UK and abroad will be coming soon.

There are lots of retreats out there, but what will be special about Quiet Community retreats is my dedication to creating inclusive spaces that help reduce anxiety and overwhelm, and allow for low-pressure quiet community.Bookish Retreat London, Wed 10-Thu 11 June 2026. Member & class pack credits

I want to say thank you to everyone who has been willing to transition existing member/class pack credits over to my new business - the trust you have shown in something that I hadn’t yet finished imagining is amazing.

Credits will be transferred over in the next day or two so that you can book onto new classes as they’re added to the new website: www.quietcommunity.co.uk. Keep an eye on your inbox for confirmation that your credits have been successfully transferred.

Details on new membership options with Quiet Community will be coming out in the next week via Instagram and the email newsletter.
